Through the many years of experience in the supply of surgical instruments and diagnostic equipment used by leading hospitals throughout the UK and the Middle East we at Avondale Surgical UK fully understand the need for quality control. To achieve the high levels of quality control demanded by leading medical professionals we believe in strict inspections from the first process. This applies to the choice of material we use and to the selection of the raw material supplier.
It is essential that these standards are set and are continually maintained to ensure that only products that meet our approved quality standards will pass our final inspection before being despatched to our customers.
We use only high quality stainless steel and titanium that can be traced back to the mill where it was manufactured. This means we are able to track, trace and monitor the full process of instrument making from the hammer process of creating the blank forgings, through the various de- stressing, tempering and hardening treatments (which give the essential basis for producing a quality product) ending with the final inspection. All our instruments are made by hand and each one of the many processes is carried out by well trained skilled craftsmen that know by the look and feel of each item when it is ready to go for its Quality Assurance Department inspection confident that it will comply with their rigorous standards. It is this care and attention to detail that allows our instruments to meet with the requirements of BS EN ISO 7153 – Surgical Instruments – Metallic Materials.
Good records combined with fully documented technical files are a key part of our success in keeping to high levels of quality control. This is also very necessary to meet the procedures set out in our Quality Management Manuals. These records are also an essential requirement of our MHRA Registration (CA011101) as a Manufacturer to show product traceability. This also ensures that our products continue to fully comply with our EC Declaration of Conformance. This entitles Perfecto instruments and diagnostic equipment to carry a CE mark. All Avondale Surgical UK products are packed in accordance with BS EN 980 2003 – Graphical symbols for labelling medical devices and EN 1041:1998 – Information supplied by the manufacturer with medical devices
